James has always felt so formal to me, so most people know me as Jimmy. I'm a local wedding photographer in the state of Hawai'i and have been working professionally over the last 6 years.
Its been 14 years at this point since I moved to O'ahu and I'm still blown away by the fact that I get to take photos for a living, even more so for weddings.
My job is my passion. And my passion is documenting weddings in a way that can be seen, felt, and never forgotten with the photos my couples receive.
I prefer to capture people the way they truly are. Candid is one way of putting it, but I prefer the word genuine. It's all about capturing the moment as it happens in utmost sincerity.

He made us feel at ease when taking the photos. My husband hates smiling and posing for photos, and even he like the experience and how the photos of him came out.

Working with James was comfortable and easy throughout the process from initial conversations all the way through editing final photos. He was patient with my many questions, took into careful considerations my preferences, and was thoughtful in his approach to capturing our maternity shoot in just the right way-- and we LOVED the outcome! As a longtime Hawai'i resident, he had key knowledge of the best spots on the island for what we had in mind and knew how to work with the landscape and the lighting. It was such a pleasure working with James! He was referred to us by our friends, who had previously worked with him for family portraits on their Hawaii trips. We were a group of 20+ people so you can imagine it being quite chaotic trying to wrangle a group that size for photos. But James was friendly, patient, and kept it light with the youngsters, all while maintaining his professionalism and capturing great moments. He also provided good insight and recommendations about places to go and see while staying on the island.
